About Me
My name is Tahira Yvonne Givhan
This is a detailed and personal page about me, my family, and what inspired me to become Birth Fairy™. I am the owner of Blissful Births by Tahira, LLC and Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC a non-profit ministry for those living with Sickle Cell Anemia. This non-profit is to help those with Sickle Cell to go from just living to thriving! Thank you for being here.

I am the Birth Fairy™ , a Guardian for mothers, a protector of beginnings.
The picture above was one of my very last pictures where I felt my innocence was preserved. The woman featured in this photo had no idea what was waiting ahead for her. She whole heartedly believed in family. That family stays together no matter what. Even during birth, I experienced many many things, I believe no mother should ever have had to experience. A lot happened against my wishes for myself AND my wishes for my baby. However, this terrifying moment where I was separated from my baby unwillingly, sparked a beautiful thing, it fueled my fire to become a dual. AKA...The Birth Fairy™! I want to spend the rest of my life making sure what happened to me never happens to another mother again. Back then, I was unable to speak up, I hadn't found my voice just yet. I was still learning, growing, and discovering my true identity and purpose. However, I have found it now! I am using it to make a change. I want to make a difference in the birthing world. I want to let women know they can do it rather they have a supportive partner or not. They deserve the best of the best treatment. Every woman is worthy of a Blissful Birth by Tahira!
The Birth Fairy™ Manifesto
Birth is not an event.
It is a threshold.
It is the moment where a woman becomes more than she was before, and a baby enters the world carrying every intention placed around them.
The Birth Fairy™ exists to protect that moment.
Birth Fairy™ is not fantasy—it is function wrapped in gentleness.
It is advocacy delivered with grace.
It is luxury defined by presence, not excess.
We believe birth should be:
• Held, not hurried
• Honored, not overridden
• Supported, not silenced
The Birth Fairy™ stands as a guardian for mothers—devoted solely to peace, clarity, and protection during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions. We do not replace medical care. We do not speak over providers. We exist to ensure the mother’s voice remains central, respected, and intact.
This work is intentional.
Birth Fairy™ support is rooted in:
• Trauma-informed care
• Emotional and physical presence
• Calm advocacy
• Respect for autonomy and intuition
We believe luxury in birth is not about aesthetics—it is about how a mother feels in her body, her mind, and her spirit.
Seen.
Heard.
Protected.
Birth Fairy™ was created from lived experience and transformed into purpose. It exists so that no mother feels alone in moments that matter most. So that the bond between mother and baby is treated as sacred. So that birth is returned to its rightful place—as powerful, personal, and worthy of reverence.
This is not just support.
This is stewardship.
We protect peace.
We honor birth.
We hold mothers with intention.
This is Birth Fairy™.

I am The Birth Fairy—a guardian of peace, presence, and protection during one of life’s most sacred thresholds.
My journey into birth work began not as a plan, but as a calling shaped by lived experience. After welcoming my son into the world, I encountered an unexpected separation during a moment that should have been held with tenderness and care. In that space, I learned how vital it is for mothers to have someone devoted solely to their peace, their voice, and their bond with their baby.
After applying for an Emergency Custody Order, I had to get the police involved in order to get my baby back into my arms, when he was just the tender age of two months old, there were four long agonizing days where I didn't know when or even if I would see my precious premie baby again. In this picture viewed, I had no idea of the journey I would face ahead. It changed the entire trajectory of my life.
That experience became my purpose.
Blissful Births by Tahira was created to ensure that each and every birth is approached with intention, gentleness, and unwavering advocacy. As the Birth Fairy, I offer refined, trauma-informed doula support designed to help mothers feel grounded, informed, and protected—emotionally, physically, and energetically.
This is luxury defined by presence.
Advocacy delivered with softness.
Support that honors both mother and baby.
Every family deserves a birth that feels calm, respected, and deeply held.
Every mother deserves to be supported without having to ask twice.
This is where peace is protected.
This is where birth is honored.
This is where bliss begins.
⸻
Birth Fairy™ Philosophy
I believe birth is not something to be rushed, managed, or overridden.
It is something to be witnessed, supported, and revered.
As the Birth Fairy, my role is to:
• Protect the emotional and physical space surrounding birth
• Honor a mother’s intuition, autonomy, and voice
• Hold calm, steady presence through every transition
• Ensure no mother feels alone in moments that matter most
Because when a mother feels safe, birth becomes powerful.
I became a doula to ensure the mothers voice is heard.
⸻
Blissful Births by Tahira is:
• Protecting peace. Honoring birth. Holding mothers with intention.
• Where birth is held with grace, advocacy, and calm.
• A guardian for mothers. A protector of beginnings.

Our Why
Blissful Births by Tahira was not created from theory.
It was created from lived experience, deep observation, and a commitment to doing better for our community.
At a pivotal moment in my life, my son and I were separated for four days. That experience permanently changed how I understand safety, power, and protection. It revealed how vulnerable families can be in systems that are meant to care for them—and how devastating it can be when advocacy and presence are missing.
As I began to heal, I started noticing patterns beyond my own experience.
I watched videos of Black mothers being dismissed, rushed, or treated harshly during labor and delivery. I listened to stories from families who felt unheard in moments that should have been sacred. I also heard, time and time again, from individuals living with sickle cell disease who shared why they often avoid hospitals altogether—because their pain is questioned, minimized, or met with suspicion instead of care.
These are not isolated incidents.
They are patterns that point to a deeper lack of protection, belief, and dignity.
Blissful Births by Tahira exists as a direct response to that reality.
⸻
Blissful Births by Tahira
Blissful Births by Tahira was created to ensure that birthing people—especially Black mothers—are supported, advocated for, and never alone during one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
This work centers:
• Presence over pressure
• Advocacy over silence
• Safety as a non-negotiable standard
Birth is not just a medical event. It is a life-altering transition that deserves intention, respect, and care. Blissful Births exists to restore those values and to help create birth experiences rooted in dignity and peace.
This is not about fear—it is about preparation, protection, and empowerment.
⸻
Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC
Blissful Butterfly was created because care should not end when birth does—and because too many people continue to suffer quietly long after they leave the hospital.
Individuals living with sickle cell disease often face systemic disbelief around pain, leading many to delay or avoid medical care altogether. This reality reflects a broader issue: when people are repeatedly dismissed, they stop seeking help—even when they need it most.

Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC
Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC is my Sickle Cell Non-Profit Ministry dedicated to empowering individuals with Sickle Cell Anemia to thrive in life. Our mission is to provide support, resources, and a sense of community for those affected by this condition. Through education, advocacy, and awareness, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals living with Sickle Cell Anemia.

Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC exists to offer support, education, and compassion beyond the delivery room. It is a commitment to honoring lived experiences, advocating for belief, and creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and supported.
⸻
A Commitment to Change
Blissful Births by Tahira and Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC were built from the same truth:

Too many people in our community are treated unfairly in systems designed to care for them.
Rather than look away, I chose to respond.
This work is about changing what has been normalized.
It is about restoring dignity where it has been denied.
And it is about building a future where safety, belief, and compassion are standard—not exceptions.
This is the heart of the work.
This is the purpose behind the movement.
⸻
We believe birth, healing, and care can be handled differently—and we are committed to being part of that change.
This is more than support. It is a standard. It is a legacy. It is a movement.
A Foundation of Advocacy
Long before Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC was created, my involvement in Sickle Cell advocacy began at a national level.
From 2000–2001, I served as a featured youth representative and public advocate for Sickle Cell Awareness at both the national and local levels. During this time, I participated in public education efforts, legislative advocacy, and national awareness campaigns focused on improving care and outcomes for individuals living with Sickle Cell Anemia.
As part of this work, I had the opportunity to speak before members of Congress, helping to bring visibility to the needs of individuals living with sickle cell disease—particularly the lack of adequate adult-focused care. These efforts contributed to large-scale fundraising initiatives that supported the development of adult Sickle Cell Clinics, expanding access to specialized care for patients who had historically been underserved once they aged out of pediatric systems.
This early advocacy experience shaped my understanding of how policy, funding, and systems directly impact real lives. It also reinforced the importance of sustained support, belief, and continuity of care—values that continue to guide the mission of Blissful Butterfly by Tahira, LLC today.
